Kédougou : les enseignants désertent massivement les salles de classe pour dénoncer le retard des indemnités d’examens
The strike call issued by CUSEMS and SAEMSS was widely heeded this morning in middle and high schools across the Kédougou academy. Starting at 9:00 AM, teachers left their classrooms, bringing the schools to a virtual standstill.
According to the two unions, this action marks the first step in a plan of action that will continue this Tuesday with a full-scale strike. The teachers intend to protest the delays in the payment of allowances related to the BFEM and Baccalaureate exams in 2025.
Union members denounce a situation that has become "recurrent" and "damaging," recalling that every year teachers play a central role in the organization and supervision of national exams, without their financial rights being respected in a timely manner.
"These repeated delays undermine the professional dignity of teachers," insisted the officials of CUSEMS and SAEMSS, believing they had been "forced" to toughen their stance in the face of the lack of satisfactory responses from the competent authorities.
So far, no official reaction has been recorded, but the disruptions are likely to worsen if no progress is made in the coming hours.
