Les élèves manquent à l’appel à Kaolack : la leçon de l’adjoint au gouverneur Mamadou Abib Camara
The traditional back-to-school tour was led by Deputy Governor for Development Mamadou Abib Camara on Wednesday, October 8, 2025. The authority was accompanied by a large delegation composed of administrative branches, stakeholders in the education system, among others. "Overall, we are satisfied with what we saw. The start of the school year is effective in the Kaolack region. However, in some schools, students did not respond to the call," noted Mr. Camara.
Accordingly, he urged parents to leave their children so they could return to school.
"We have just completed the traditional tour for the start of the 2025-2026 school year in accordance with the instructions of the high authorities, namely Ubu Tey Jang Tey. We were able to see that all the stakeholders are present, namely inspectors, teachers, teachers' unions and parents of students. But what we deplore is the low presence of learners," he regrets.
School inspector Samba Diakhaté stressed that the majority of teachers are on site in the classes visited and that there are students who have started classes.
Regarding the low rate of student absence, he said, we will continue to raise awareness among parents.
