The floods, which continue to invade vast areas of land, have submerged the classrooms and courtyard of the village's elementary school, as well as teachers' homes. The situation is similar in Sylla Diongto, in the commune of Dabia, Thiargal, and Ndouloumadji Virage, two villages located in the commune of Nabadji Civol, in the department of Matam.

Located in the commune of Oréfondé, the Diowguel elementary school is also affected by the flooding of the river and the heavy rains of recent days. The school principal, who is warning of the situation, states that "several classrooms and the school grounds have been flooded," making teaching impossible.

At the Diamel elementary school (Matam commune), disaster victims are occupying the school space instead of the students. "In this school, the desks and benches are scattered around the courtyard, all fourteen classrooms are occupied by disaster victims, whose homes were flooded by the waters of the Senegal River," explained Mamadou Samba Bâ, the school's principal.

The Diamel CEM is also in the same situation, with families affected by the disaster occupying the establishment's nine rooms.

As a result, while classes are opening up in other locations, the highly agitated "Ubi Tey, Jang Teey" has not been effective in the village, where the second elementary school is flooded.
