Rentré scolaire 2025-2026 : A Ziguinchor, les autorités expriment leur satisfécit
Education authorities have given a satisfactory assessment of the start of the school year in Ziguinchor, after visiting several schools this morning. Although students did not respond en masse to the call for classes, especially in middle and secondary schools, the school inspector, Papa Gorgui Ndiaye, praised the presence of teachers and the effective start of classes with the minimum number of students present.
"What we saw was satisfactory. We came to see the conditions for getting started. And everywhere we went, we saw that it was done. The other aspect is the massive presence of teachers since the start of the administrative year. We even received the start statistics," says Papa Gorgui Ndiaye.
The only problem remains the students who are still being missed in middle and high schools. "For preschool and elementary schools, we have seen a fairly good attendance of students. Lessons have even started. But it is at the middle and secondary level where students are still being missed. And there, often, it is a common observation. But those in charge have also received instructions to insist with the parents of students. There is no reason for the schools to be ready, for the teaching staff to be on site and for the students to continue to be missed," lamented the school inspector of the southern capital.
