France: Emmanuel Macron promulgue la loi Duplomb après la censure partielle du Conseil constitutionnel
Emmanuel Macron enacted the Duplomb Law after the Constitutional Council censored its most controversial provision, which provided for the reintroduction of a banned pesticide from the neonicotinoid family, according to the Official Journal published Tuesday. On August 7, however, the "Sages" validated the administrative simplifications granted to larger livestock farms, as well as the construction of water storage facilities for agricultural purposes. This agricultural law, adopted by Parliament in early July, was the subject of a widespread protest movement, including within the scientific community, with a petition calling for its repeal gathering more than 2.1 million signatures.
