Donald Trump et le pape Léon XIV
Donald Trump said on Thursday that Pope Leo XIV could say whatever he wanted about international affairs, but that he needed to understand the realities of a "cruel world."
The American pontiff has been the target of fierce diatribes from Donald Trump in recent days, who called him "weak" and "terrible at foreign policy" after the Pope delivered a scathing speech against war.
"The Pope needs to understand that Iran has killed more than 42,000 people in recent months," said the U.S. President.
"They were protesters who were absolutely unarmed. The Pope needs to understand that. This is the real world, it's a cruel world," he added.
He denied, however, that he was "feuding" with the Pope and claimed he had "nothing against" him.
