Affaire des 125 milliards F CFA : Tahirou Sarr change de prison
A breath of fresh air for Tahirou Sarr. The businessman was not granted the bail he requested despite posting a hefty bail (over 400 billion CFA francs), but he can take comfort in having obtained a change of detention location. According to L'Observateur, the Sofico boss has left Rebeuss for Cap Manuel prison.
The transfer took place "between the weekend and the beginning of this week," the newspaper emphasizes, citing "sources close to the case." The daily newspaper of the Future Media Group reports that Tahirou Sarr now occupies a cell that is significantly less crowded than the one he experienced at Rebeuss, specifying that he is surrounded by only four inmates.
The businessman is in custody for fraud involving public funds and money laundering as part of the investigation into dubious transactions amounting to 125 billion CFA francs identified in a Centif report.
