De la Dic au Pool judiciaire financier : Les dessous de l’audition de Waly Seck
Singer Waly Seck was charged this Wednesday by the senior investigating judge of the Financial Judicial Pool in the case of Amadou Sall, the son of former head of state Macky Sall. Seneweb looks back at the details of his hearing at the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) and before the investigating magistrate.
According to sources close to the case, Waly Seck appeared early this morning, around 6 a.m., at the DIC, accompanied by his lawyers. Wearing a beige hood, he began his hearing around 7:30 a.m. Investigators questioned him about his relationship with Amadou Sall, including a 210 million CFA franc transaction.
In response, the lead vocalist of the group Raam Daan maintained that the vehicle sale was legally concluded. He firmly rejected the money laundering accusations against him.
Following his hearing, the DIC referred the artist to the Financial Judicial Pool. Before the investigating judge, Waly Seck maintained his statements, while contesting the charges.
Furthermore, he offered a deposit equivalent to the amount of the transaction, i.e. 210 million CFA francs, through his lawyer, Me Dior Diagne, who deposited a check with the Caisse des dépôts et consignations (Cdc).
How Waly left the PJF
Charged but released on bail, Waly Seck quietly left the PJF premises. Picked up from the basement by his brother, Seydina Alioune Seck, he boarded a vehicle, thus escaping the journalists who were milling around outside the main entrance.
