These images quickly sparked outrage and attracted the attention of judicial authorities.
Arrest on the prosecutor's orders
The public prosecutor at the Saint-Louis High Court, Baye Thiam, gave firm instructions. He ordered the arrest of the perpetrator of these acts.

The suspect is a 34-year-old businessman residing in Sanar Peulh, in the Saint-Louis region. Mouhamadou Bachir Syll has been taken into custody at the central police station. He faces two charges: insulting the head of state and public defamation. Both offenses are punishable by law in Senegal.
According to Seneweb sources, Bachir Syll expressed regret to investigators, stating that he was not responsible for publishing the video. His interrogation is still ongoing.
