Marché controversé de 2,4 milliards F Cfa : L'étau se resserre autour de Me Moussa Bocar Thiam
Following the imprisonment of the former director general of the Digital Technology Park (PTN), Bassirou Abdoul Bâ, and his administrative manager, Ismaïla Thimbo, the noose is tightening around the former Minister of Telecommunications, Mr. Moussa Bocar Thiam.
Cited in the controversial 2.4 billion CFA francs deal for the development of the PTN (now Senegal Connect Park), Mr. Thiam is the subject of a meticulous asset investigation. L'Observateur reports that the Financial Judicial Pool (PJF) has sent requisitions to notaries and banking institutions, both in Senegal and abroad, to draw up a complete inventory of his assets.
The investigation is based in particular on the statements of former CEO Bassirou Abdoul Bâ. The latter allegedly shifted responsibility for the alleged events to Mr. Thiam, his then-supervisory minister. Bâ allegedly claimed to have only agreed to use the funds for the controversial contract (whose actual valuation was estimated at 1 billion by Ageroute) after repeated insistence from the minister and, above all, the submission of a written discharge note, rewinds the daily newspaper of the Future Media Group.
