Révision constitutionnelle : Cheikh Thioro Mbacké et Seynabou Yacine Samb s'en prennent au ministre de la Justice
The debates on the revision of the Constitution this Monday in plenary session were also marked by targeted attacks against the Minister of Justice, Keeper of the Seals, Mr. Moussa Sarr.
Speaking to the assembly, MP Cheikh Thioro Mbacké expressed his surprise at seeing the minister defend the government's position before the MPs. "When I was told that the government would be represented by Mr. Moussa Sarr to defend its position, I didn't believe it. I had to see it with my own eyes," he said.
The parliamentarian stated that he had long held the Minister of Justice in high esteem, recalling that he had not shared the criticisms leveled against him by Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko in the past. "I had a great deal of respect for this man. When Ousmane Sonko spoke about him in front of the ministers, I disagreed, because I believed he was always honest. Today, I understand."
Cheikh Thioro Mbacké then spoke about the role played by Me Sarr in the defense of Imam Alioune Badara Ndao, believing that the latter "should be turning in his grave" and that the minister "should be ashamed" in view of the position he defends today.
In the same vein, MP Seynabou Yacine Samb sent a message to the Minister of Justice, calling on him not to endorse what she considers a betrayal of President Bassirou Diomaye Faye's commitments.
"President Diomaye has betrayed us. Do not follow him in this act. You defended the project for which our martyrs fought," she declared, addressing herself directly to the Minister of Justice, Moussa Sarr.
