Abdoulaye Wilane trace la voie : un PS rajeuni face au régime PASTEF
Abdoulaye Wilane, spokesperson for the Socialist Party and president of the Kaffrine Departmental Council, announced a new phase in the party's life. According to him, "the Socialist Party is embarking on a New Dynamic. With the special revival commission, we are initiating an inclusive process of refoundation intended to restore our political party to its full strength and influence."
Two major political events are in the PS's sights: "2027 and 2029. The Territoriales (local elections) first, then the presidential election. Preparing for these elections must be our priority," Mr. Wilane said. He insisted on the party's line: "a socialist party in opposition to the PASTEF regime, but above all a party that works for unity and the reunion of the left. No room for diversion, no room for division."
For the Socialist Party spokesperson, the mission is clear: "return to the grassroots, reconnect with the people, carry out their useful struggles and build a credible alternative. The time has come for clarity, courage and cohesion."
The revival commission, set up by the party, has a limited timeframe: "six months, no more, to move from intentions to actions, to renew, rejuvenate, energize and restore the Socialist Party to its rightful place in the political history of our country."
Abdoulaye Vilane calls on activists and leaders to close ranks: "This is the time for Unity, Mobilization and Rebirth."
He also warns against public quarrels: "To those who invade the media to rant, self-flagellate, and tarnish the image of our common heritage, I call for reason and lucidity. We have already done ourselves too much harm since 2007. Let's head for the Refoundation of the New Socialist Party!"
