Amadou Ba tacle Pape Djibril Fall : « Celui qui voulait initier une motion de censure a déserté l’hémicycle finalement »
The Minister of Culture, Amadou Ba, also a former MP and member of the Pastef party, strongly criticized the attitude of opposition MP Pape Djibril Fall, accusing him of having deserted the chamber when he had announced the filing of a motion of censure against the government.
In a post on his Facebook page following the question period held on Tuesday at the National Assembly, in the presence of Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko and his government, Mr. Ba denounced what he called "a terrible disavowal and an important signal about the absence of a structured opposition in Senegal."
"The one who wanted to initiate a motion of censure has finally deserted the chamber," he wrote, while also welcoming the conduct of the parliamentary debates.
The minister praised what he called a "government masterclass at the National Assembly," believing that Pastef, "despite its overwhelming majority, has managed to impose parliamentary democracy, allowing the opposition to raise major political and economic issues without hindrance."
He also congratulated the government and the "guide of the revolution", while highlighting the quality of the discussions and the presence of the deputies during this session devoted to current affairs.
