The Association for the Protection of Human Rights (APDH) issued a statement on Monday, October 20, 2025, strongly condemning the remarks made by former Minister of Youth, Pape Malick Ndour. The APDH considers these statements to be an "apology for the overthrow of the constitutional order and the removal of the current government."
APDH President Mbaye Cissé underlined the seriousness of the allegations in the statement: "These remarks of particular gravity constitute a call for an unconstitutional change of government."
The Association recalls that the President of the Republic was democratically elected and that any call to overthrow the power "constitutes an illicit and criminal act."
Consequently, the APDH calls on the public prosecutor to take up the case and demands the full application of Article 80 of the Criminal Code. According to the organization, these allegations "undermine state security, constitutional order, and democracy."
The APDH also warns against the dangers of such remarks, which could lead to public order disturbances, violence and human rights violations.
The organization reaffirms its commitment to legality, political stability and democracy, and urges the authorities to take the necessary measures to preserve "state security and fundamental rights."
