APR : les cadres peaufinent un plan de riposte
The leaders of the Alliance for the Republic (APR, the former ruling party) met this Tuesday under the chairmanship of Dior Thiam. According to Les Échos, which reported the information, the agenda focused primarily on the situation of their party colleague, Pape Malick Ndour.
The participants denounced what they called "arbitrary detention." Pape Malick Ndour is currently being held at his home, under threat of imprisonment. The same source notes a strong mobilization of supporters of the former Minister of Youth, demonstrating, according to the newspaper, a desire to rally behind him.
While the will to retaliate is clear, the party has not yet decided on a strategy. Several proposals have been debated to "take up the fight" against what they consider judicial harassment. Party leaders are taking time to reflect and select the most effective course of action.
As a reminder, Pape Malick Ndour's situation is pending the Supreme Court's decision. His lawyers filed an appeal after the indictment chamber overturned his placement under house arrest with an electronic tag in the Prodac case. This decision followed the requests of the Financial Prosecutor's Office, which is firmly demanding an arrest warrant against him, as reported by Les Échos.
