Assemblée nationale : L’opposition parlementaire décide de «boycotter» Ousmane Sonko
Ousmane Sonko and members of his government are expected in the National Assembly next Friday for a question period. However, some independent members of parliament and all members of the Takku Wallu Sénégal parliamentary group have just announced their decision not to participate.
In their joint statement, signed by Ms. Aissata Tall Sall, (President of the Takku Wallu parliamentary group) and Anta Babacar Ngom (non-affiliated), they explain that this decision is part of a logic of "protecting the dignity of the institution, preserving the republican framework of parliamentary debate and refusing the trivialization of practices that devalue it".
Indeed, these opposition MPs believe that current affairs questions have been diverted from their purpose. They feel that the Prime Minister is intervening based on political expediency, without regard for the parliamentary calendar or the solemnity of the proceedings.
"His speeches, marked by attacks and insinuations, transform the chamber into a scene of partisan confrontation rather than a space for useful responses to the concerns of Senegalese men and women. The parliamentary opposition refuses to endorse this drift," say these elected officials.
For them, just hours before the start of the budget session, no news is more crucial than the vote on the state budget. It's a pivotal moment to address issues "as essential as education, health, security, employment, and purchasing power." They therefore believe that Parliament must focus its efforts on this budget session.
These MPs also rejected the framework chosen for Friday's exercise: "The parliamentary opposition firmly rejects the arrangement provided for in the imposed 'code of conduct': an arbitrary limitation to only 13 questions for more than 25 ministries; a manifestly unbalanced distribution of speaking time between the groups; a mechanism allowing the PASTEF group to ask three questions in succession and receive the Prime Minister's answers before any intervention from opposition MPs, introducing an imbalance that dangerously brings the exercise closer to a format geared towards its communication rather than a genuine parliamentary debate," they fumed.
The signatories of the statement also cited three other reasons for their non-participation in Friday's session. The first is that they believe "it was the Prime Minister who decided, according to his own whims and political agenda, to convene the members of parliament." This, in their view, is unacceptable in a democracy like ours.
The second reason, they say, lies in the Prime Minister's clear intention to transform the National Assembly into a political rally platform, thus stripping this exercise of great republican importance of all seriousness and credibility. "The third reason is that the only urgent matter at this time is to address the difficulties and suffering experienced by the people of Senegal," these members of parliament assert.

Plus surprenant encore : quelqu’un qui n’a même pas pu gagner son propre bureau de vote ose parler de mérite. Quel mérite a-t-il réellement ? Il n’a pas mené de grève de la faim pour soutenir Sonko lorsqu’il était en prison, ce qui aurait pourtant été un acte fort. Il ne l’a pas non plus soutenu lors des dernières élections législatives.
Aujourd’hui, comme beaucoup d’arrivistes, il prétend que ce n’est pas Pastef qui lui a permis de gagner, mais la coalition « Diomaye Président », alors qu’aucun de ses leaders n’est en mesure de remporter un seul bureau de vote sur l’ensemble du territoire. Cette coalition n’est composée, que d’anciens politiciens dépendants du pouvoir et de jeunes en quête de visibilité.
Quant à Mimi Touré, c’est l’une des figures les plus controversées de la scène politique sénégalaise. Il faudrait garder ses distances : elle rappelle, par certains aspects, Idrissa Seck, dans une version féminine et en fin de cycle politique.Mimi Toure c’est comme le Covid il faut adopter des mesures barrières

Comme ça il va faire seul face a ses moutons élus.
Fondamentalement, cette opposition manque non seulement de courage mais d'arguments; elle devrait se réinventer pour espérer tenir la dragée haute au pouvoir.
Autrement, elle est en train d'enfoncer sa propre tombe et la bipolarisation du jeu politique à venir se fera sans elle et ne concernera en définitive que le pastef.
Alors on en a rien à branler, rien à cirer de leurs absences et même de leurs présences.

Arrêtez votre hypocrisie et assumer.
Il n'y avait pas de questions d'actualités sous votre régime, lui au moins c'est sa deuxième en une année. Vous décevez ceux qui vous ont élus pour des raisons fallacieuses.
En choisissant le silence ou le boycott au lieu du débat, on fragilise les institutions et on affaiblit la voix des citoyens. Je crois qu’un vrai opposant doit accepter que même un adversaire mérite le respect et l’écoute, surtout quand il incarne une part importante de l’opinion nationale.
J’appelle tous les responsables politiques — majorité comme opposition — à privilégier le dialogue, le respect mutuel et l’intérêt général du Sénégal. Car c’est seulement ainsi qu’on peut bâtir une nation unie, juste et démocratique.
