Audition à l'ONU: Comment les partisans de Macky Sall ont transformé le siège de l'APR en QG diplomatique

On the occasion of former President Macky Sall's hearing before the United Nations, the Alliance for the Republic (APR) organized a fan zone at party headquarters on Wednesday to follow this major international event live. Initiated by the "Analysis, Initiative and Foresight" unit, led by Hamidou Hanne, in collaboration with the Convergence of Young Republicans (COJER), this mobilization aimed to bring together activists, supporters, and citizens around the former head of state's candidacy for the position of UN Secretary-General.

For the organizers, this initiative reflects the desire to demonstrate the popular support Macky Sall enjoys. "The aim was to allow Senegalese people to follow this hearing together and share the vision put forward by the president in the context of his candidacy," explained Mamadou Kassé, head of economic and financial affairs for the APR party. He also emphasized the international support surrounding this initiative, mentioning the backing of several countries: "What impresses me most is the popular momentum at the international level, where various citizens of the world have supported this candidacy, which I hope will be successful so that Senegal wins, as usual."

Hamidou Hanne, for his part, emphasized the symbolic significance of this candidacy, considered a source of national pride. "Macky Sall is a son of Senegal who has risen through the ranks to the highest office. Today, he embodies the country's ambition on the international stage," he declared. According to him, the former president's presence among the candidates selected for this strategic position constitutes "a recognition of Senegal's role in global diplomacy" and highlights "the excellence of the Senegalese republican school system."

However, he did not hide his indignation at the lack of official support from the current Senegalese authorities, which he considers "regrettable" and "out of step with the country's interests." "This attitude of not responding to a letter addressed by President Macky Sall to his successor is discourteous, inelegant, and unworthy of Senegal's diplomatic traditions," he insisted.

Beyond the diplomatic implications, this mobilization was presented as a message of hope in a national context deemed difficult. In a festive and activist atmosphere, marked by the presence of Anta Babacar Ngom, president of the Alternative for Citizen Succession (ARC) movement, the fan zone served as a gathering place for supporters of the former president, determined to demonstrate their support for their candidate on the international stage.

Il fallait plutôt titrer "comment la candidature de Macky Sall a tourné en un cirque sénégalais à New-York". Mais hélas, la honte ne tuera jamais Macky. Macky Sall est le seul candidat ayant fui son pays avec des milliards volés au contribuable sénégalais. Des milliards qu'il utilise depuis des années pour payer tout azimut afin de trouver immunité contre les menaces judiciaires qui le hantent. Macky Sall est le seul candidat a avoir une campagne dévoilant ses scandales autour du siege des Nations Unis. Au point qu'il a senti la nécessité de puiser encontre dans ses milliards volés pour organiser une contre manifestation, tournant son audition plutôt en un cirque grotesque et vilifiante. Mais hélas, la presse corrompue qui supprimera mon message, comme ils savent le faire parce que payée pour, préfère appeler ce théâtre QG diplomatique !!! Que n'en !!!!

Non-seulement ils n'ont aucun respect envers les populations venues assistées à cet événement mais e plus ils sont malpolis aucune conscience tranquille

Ce qu’il ne faut surtout pas confondre, c’est l’accès à de hautes fonctions politiques et la véritable densité intellectuelle. Être ministre, président ou occuper des postes prestigieux ne signifie pas automatiquement profondeur de pensée, vision stratégique ou hauteur d’analyse. Surtout en Afrique, où chacun sait que certaines ascensions politiques reposent parfois davantage sur des proximités ethniques, religieuses, confrériques ou relationnelles que sur le mérite pur. Le passage de Macky Sall lors de cette audition liée au poste de Secrétaire général des Nations Unies a, pour moi,été une immense déception. Sans préjuger de l’issue du processus, ce qui a marqué, c’est la faiblesse du contenu : des idées convenues, des formules déjà entendues mille fois, aucune originalité, aucune audace intellectuelle, aucune profondeur réelle sur les grands enjeux du monde. À ce niveau de responsabilité, on attendait de la hauteur, une vision, une pensée structurée, un souffle. On a plutôt assisté à une prestation d’une platitude inquiétante. Cela pose aussi une question plus large : celle de notre système de sélection des élites et même de notre modèle éducatif. Car lorsqu’un pays présente certains profils comme références ultimes, puis que ceux-ci peinent à convaincre dès qu’ils sortent du cadre local, cela doit pousser à une profonde remise en question. Les titres impressionnent parfois. Le niveau réel, lui, finit toujours par parler.
