BTP au Sénégal : Mamoudou Ibra Kane dénonce une « souffrance sélective » de la part de Sonko
Following Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko's statements expressing his "suffering" at the difficulties construction contractors face in paying their employees, journalist Mamoudou Ibra Kane has reacted.
In a post published on X this Thursday, August 21, Mamoudou Ibra Kane said he "totally agrees that the construction industry deserves a better fate," while pointing to the authorities' responsibility. "With its haphazard measures, the State therefore seems to realize the harm it has done to the construction and public works sector," he wrote.
Furthermore, the journalist questions the silence surrounding other economic sectors also affected by the same difficulties. "What about other entrepreneurs who are struggling to pay their salaries? We're not 'suffering' for them? Yet they are victims of the same measures," he denounces, speaking of "selective suffering."
These comments follow the government's announcements regarding a support plan for the construction sector, which has been hit hard by the economic situation and the slowdown in public investment.
