«C’est la catastrophe à tous les étages...»: Abdou Mbow alerte sur une déstructuration de l’administration
Abdou Mbow railed on Thursday against what he described as the dismantling of our administration. And, according to him, the problem has reached its peak. "We thought we'd seen it all! But the Pastef Circus is in full swing and has turned our country and its administration into a giant open-air circus. It's as if the authorities are allergic to enforcing the law," he exclaimed.
To support his claims, the MP referred to the press conference held by the Director of Human Resources at Ageroute. He deemed the press conference "surreal" and "ludicrous." He was outraged that Cheikh Ahmed Tidiane Thiam had spoken publicly to "denounce managerial abuses and flagrant violations of regulations" under the leadership of Moustapha Fall, who was appointed Director General on December 18th. According to him, if the substance of Mr. Thiam's accusations is true, Mr. Fall "must be fired this Monday and brought to justice."
But beyond this story, for Abdou Mbow, it's the manner in which it was handled that is worrying. "It's truly the height of absurdity to see, under this regime, which makes chance a rule of governance, a press conference by an HR director complaining about his CEO. Unthinkable under Senghor, under Diouf, under Wade. Even less so under Macky. But should we be surprised? What can we expect from an HR director with disastrous French if it's the members of parliament, in front of the Minister of the Interior, and facing a laughing Speaker of the National Assembly, who are insulting the President of the Republic?" he says.
Abdou Mbow believes that the country's current leaders should be beyond reproach in respecting institutions. But in his view, Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko himself has set a new record for insubordination and disrespect towards the President of the Republic.
"Their petty weekly ambitions have provoked an unprecedented crisis between the executive and legislative branches, sowing indescribable disorder in our assembly, with blatant and repeated violations of the law. Meanwhile, there is widespread discontent: farmers, workers, artisans, employers, and the informal sector are all desperate. Parents are experiencing incredible stress just two weeks before Tabaski," he said.
The opposition member also points out that a crucial administration like the Treasury has also been hacked. This comes after the Tax and State Property Administration and the Directorate of File Automation. "It's a disaster at every level. The Cybercrime Division, specifically tasked with protecting our data and preventing Dark Web criminals from hacking our crucial governance services, is reduced to hunting down columnists and opposition figures," the MP declares.
