Coalition Diomaye Président : Me Abdoulaye Tine lance une pique à Ousmane Sonko sur la supervision
The question of oversight of the Diomaye President coalition continues to fuel debate within the presidential majority. During the meeting of the Council of Leaders held this Saturday at the King Fahd Palace, Abdoulaye Tine launched a thinly veiled attack on Ousmane Sonko regarding the leadership of the coalition.
Speaking to the assembled political leaders, the lawyer reminded them that the coalition bears the name of the Head of State, Bassirou Diomaye Faye. In his view, this clearly means that the decision to appoint a general supervisor rests exclusively with the President of the Republic. "The Diomaye President coalition is named after Bassirou Diomaye Faye. It is his prerogative to appoint the general supervisor, not anyone else's," he stated.
Continuing his speech, Mr. Abdoulaye Tine questioned the logic of contesting the appointment of the current supervisor. "How can one seek a supervisor for an entity that bears someone's name?" he asked the members of the Council of Leaders.
This statement is widely seen as a response to recent remarks made by Ousmane Sonko, leader of PASTEF and a key figure in the majority. He had suggested that Aminata Touré could not lead the coalition if she were implicated in a report. According to him, such a situation would be incompatible with the PASTEF party's leading role within the coalition.
