Collectif Rappel à l’ordre du peuple : Karim Xrum Xax et ses amis organisent un rassemblement le jour du tera-meeting de Sonko
The citizens' collective "Rappel à l'ordre du peuple" (Call to Order of the People) has submitted a request to the sub-prefect of Almadies for permission to organize a peaceful public gathering on November 8, 2025, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., at the Sacré-Cœur III grounds, opposite the VDN (Voie de Dégagement Nord). This event will coincide with the rally organized by Ousmane Sonko and his Pastef party.
In their correspondence, the initiators of the collective, Abdou Karim Guèye, Mamadou Cissé, and Abdoulaye Masseck Mbaye, specify that this mobilization will be themed "For a Senegal of Rights and Dignity." The objective, they explain, is to raise public awareness and challenge political and institutional actors on the major challenges facing the country.
According to the signatories, this initiative is strictly peaceful and aims to provide a space for citizen expression centered on the values of justice, respect for rights, and human dignity. The group is committed to maintaining public order, ensuring compliance with the Highway Code, and promoting good conduct among participants. Volunteers will be mobilized to supervise the gathering and cooperate with law enforcement officers present on the ground.
The collective finally indicates that it remains available to discuss with the administrative authorities the organizational arrangements and practical conditions of the demonstration, pending official authorization.
