Congés prolongés : Thierno Bocoum accuse le Premier ministre de fuir ses responsabilités
Thierno Bocoum, president of the AGIR-les leaders movement, strongly criticized the Prime Minister, accusing him of failing in his duties in a national context that he describes as "deserted".
According to Mr. Bocoum, Senegal is going through a period of great institutional and economic fragility, marked by a lack of reforms, opaque public debt, and a climate of mistrust in the financial markets. He believes that the Prime Minister's role should have been that of a "guide capable of providing solutions and charting a clear course, but he preferred to withdraw rather than act," laments Thierno Bocoum.
The opposition leader points out that, from the moment of his appointment, the head of government refrained from presenting a general policy statement, which was expected to mark a new beginning. He also denounces the attempt to bypass Parliament by establishing a "people's jury," which he describes as a dangerous fiction.
Thierno Bocoum criticizes the Prime Minister for a series of absences and impulsive decisions, notably his boycott of the Council of Ministers and his stances deemed destabilizing for certain economic sectors, such as the construction industry. He accuses him of destroying momentum and turning his moods into sandstorms.
"In the desert, you recognize the leaders by those who know how to find water.
"Those who vanish there only to return and blow away the dust only weigh down our progress and delay the country," he wrote.
"The country is moving forward in the desert and he is moving forward like a deserter," he writes, before concluding that Senegal deserves better than a leader who "attacks when he should be uniting and flees when he should be moving forward."

Pendant que le Sénégal traverse les périodes les plus difficiles de son histoire nos autorités s affrontent dans des querelles de borne fontaine et mieux encore le PM se permet de prendre des congés alors qu il y’a des vacances gouvernementales au mois d août
Décidément le peuple sénégalais ne comprend plus avec ttes les attentes qu il avait avec ce nouveau régime
La déception est totale
