Coup d'État en Guinée-Bissau, crise au sein de l'exécutif, discours à l'Assemblée nationale : Pastef/Bignona apporte son soutien à Ousmane Sonko
Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, president of the Pastef/Les Patriotes party, can count on the support of his activists in Bignona. They expressed their full support for his ambitions to bring the "project" to fruition and for his position regarding the coup in Guinea-Bissau, a statement he made to the National Assembly which, according to several analysts, led to the premature departure of former leader Umaro Sissoco Embaló from Dakar.
"We welcome the Prime Minister's vision based on an active and assertive African sovereignty. Like any game-changer, he faces internal and external resistance. Despite these obstacles, he has emerged as a true voice for a people long silenced. His intellectual honesty, his high sense of responsibility, and his exemplary patriotism illuminate his public actions, thus reinforcing his leadership on the African stage," reads the statement published by Dr. Tito Tamba of Pastef/Bignona.
He also mentioned the "crisis at the highest levels of government." And he emphasized that "the sons and daughters of Bignona unequivocally reaffirm their unwavering support for Ousmane Sonko, president of the Pastef/Les Patriotes party. Bignona demonstrates its deep roots and commitment to Pastef."
Referring to the Prime Minister's appearance in the National Assembly, the members of the Pastef party in Bignona extend their "warmest congratulations to Ousmane Sonko on his firm stance on the economy, good governance, sovereignty, and justice. (This) reflects the importance he places on the well-being of the Senegalese people. A people fully aware of the challenges and determined to support him tirelessly, as he embodies the hope of an entire nation mobilized around its present and future aspirations."
Dr. Tamba concluded by emphasizing their commitment "to further promote and enhance his sense of greatness, his patriotism and his fight for a just and prosperous Senegal, within a united and sovereign Africa."
