Crise universitaire, filière arachidière et diplomatie : Taxawu Senegaal interpelle l’État et appelle à des réformes urgentes

Meeting on December 6, 2025, at the party's national headquarters in Sacré-Cœur, under the chairmanship of Khalifa Ababacar Sall, the provisional National Political Secretariat of Taxawu Senegaal held its second ordinary session. Following this meeting, the party analyzed current national events, notably the university crisis, persistent difficulties in the agricultural sector, and a decline in Senegalese diplomacy.

University crisis: Taxawu Senegaal demands immediate payment of scholarships

Taxawu Senegaal first focused on the current tensions in public universities, fueled by the issue of scholarships. The party reports a worrying deterioration in the social climate and denounces the "flagrant violation of academic freedoms," a central principle guaranteeing the freedom and autonomy of campuses.

The political organization reiterates that the delay in Master's student registration is in no way attributable to the students themselves, but rather stems from an administrative malfunction. Consequently, the Scholarship Office's refusal to cover thirteen months of arrears is deemed "unjustified and contrary to the principles of fairness."

Taxawu Senegaal points out that only 1% of Senegalese are enrolled in public universities, a figure far below global standards estimated at nearly 4%. In this context, the party believes that scholarships remain a crucial tool for enabling young people from modest backgrounds to pursue their studies under acceptable conditions.

The party is therefore calling on the State to immediately settle the outstanding arrears and to prioritize dialogue in the management of this matter, which is considered sensitive.

Peanuts: the party denounces a price that does not remunerate producers

Regarding the agricultural sector, Taxawu Senegaal focused extensively on the peanut industry. The party believes that producers face the same constraints every year: a lack of inputs, inadequate agricultural equipment, and irregular rainfall. Under these conditions, aligning peanut prices with world market prices is considered "unfair and inconsistent."

The price set this year—305 CFA francs per kilo—is considered insufficient and unprofitable, exposing small producers to heavy losses. The party therefore demands that the price be set based on the actual cost of production in order to preserve the economic viability of family farms.

Taxawu Senegaal also demands the rapid settlement of debts owed to private storage operators, an essential condition, according to him, to effectively start purchasing operations and avoid the fire sale already observed in some rural areas.

Senegalese diplomacy: a worrying setback according to Taxawu Senegaal

Internationally, the party is concerned about a weakening of Senegal's diplomatic action. It points to a decline in the country's influence on the regional and international stage, in a context marked by instability in the Sahel, geopolitical realignments, and the strengthening of certain powers.

Taxawu Senegaal believes Senegal must return to its diplomatic tradition based on credibility, mediation, and dialogue. He urges the government to adopt a clear, consistent approach focused on the country's strategic interests.

Internal party life: momentum maintained in view of the national congress

Internally, the party is pleased with the dynamism observed in its grassroots structures. The process of registering members continues in the various departments in preparation for the upcoming congress, considered a crucial step in structuring and strategic planning.

Taxawu Senegaal concluded its statement by reaffirming its commitment to supporting citizens' aspirations and to holding the government accountable for national priorities. The party declared its determination to continue its mobilization efforts and to stand alongside students, agricultural producers, and those affected by the current difficulties.

Ce texte traite des vrais problèmes du Senegal.
    C'est une belle analyse.
Si Khalifa est dépassé, le problème est que les hommes politiques à la mode eux, sont dépassés par les difficultés du Senegal et n'ont pas de solutions.
