Déplacement du ministère des Mines à Soussoung : Le collectif dénonce une visite “opaque”
The Collective for the Defense of the Lands of Soussoung accuses the Ministry of Mines and Geology of having orchestrated a visit to their locality in conditions deemed "opaque" and "exclusive" for the populations directly concerned.
"We strongly denounce the opaque conditions under which this visit was organized. The real people concerned by the projects in question, namely the impacted populations, were neither informed in time nor involved in this meeting. The announcement of the visit was not communicated to us until late the evening before, while certain individuals close to the developer known for their role in manipulation and division, had been informed well in advance and had already prepared, deliberately withholding the information to the detriment of the collective," reads the collective's press release. It suspects a maneuver intended to encourage selective participation, by excluding the real actors.
The date chosen for this meeting, in the middle of the Magal period of Touba, is also seen as a strategy to limit the presence of members of the collective, the majority being on the move to the holy city.
Another point of contention: the composition of the participants. "Far from representing the affected population, they were essentially close associates of the developer involved in the current tensions and without any mandate to speak on behalf of the residents," the text denounces.
Faced with these maneuvers, the collective says it is determined to defend "the legitimate rights" of the population and calls on the authorities to "thoroughly review their consultation methods" in order to guarantee "transparent, equitable and participatory" management of land and resources.

Non à l'installation d'une carrière à soussoung
Ils devrait écouter, analyser, prendre en compte leurs besoins et critiques afin de mieux mettre la pression aux compagnies exploitantes
Il semble oublier l'objectif de sa mission qui est de veiller aux intérêts de la population
Il devrait aller vivre un laps de temps dans chacune des localités plaignantes sinon au moins connaitre leurs difficultés et s'assurer de trouver une solution.
