Désenclavement du Pakao : Le président Diomaye Faye lance les travaux de l'axe Sandiniery - Tanaff - Faring
As part of his economic tour of Casamance, which began last Saturday, the Head of State officially launched the road paving project on the Sandiniéry-Tanaff-Faring axis this Saturday. This project, awaited for decades by the people of the Goudomp department and those along the border with Guinea-Bissau, marks a decisive step in the strategy to open up the region and structurally transform the local economy.
According to Bassirou Diomaye Faye, a strategic investment of 23 billion CFA francs will be dedicated to building this 26 km road section, "within a comprehensive vision of regional and cross-border connectivity with neighbouring Guinea-Bissau".
During the groundbreaking ceremony in Tanaff, the Head of State emphasized that this infrastructure will facilitate the smooth flow of people and goods in this southeastern part of the country. The road will also enable the transport of agricultural products, as Sédhiou is one of the country's major grain and fruit-producing regions. Furthermore, this route will reduce transport costs and travel times for traders and transporters.
