Électrification rurale : Thierno Alassane Sall dénonce des « irrégularités graves » et la disparition de 37 milliards FCFA
MP Thierno Alassane Sall questioned the awarding of the rural electrification contract to AEE Power EPC by ASER (Senegalese Rural Electrification Agency) during the review of the budget of the Ministry of Energy, Petroleum and Mines.
According to him, a "fictitious exemption" was used to award the contract, in violation of the legal framework for public procurement. The MP claimed that 37 billion FCFA allocated to the project had disappeared or had never been accounted for. He also denounced the fact that the majority of the villages concerned had seen neither a construction site, nor equipment, nor any sign of work.
Thierno Alassane Sall demanded the immediate cancellation of the contract, the inclusion of AEE Power EPC on the blacklist of public contracts and sanctions against those responsible involved.
He also revealed that he had filed a complaint, denouncing the alleged theft of public funds and calling for total transparency to prevent the Spanish company from benefiting from contracts in Senegal again.
