Fonds intergénérationnel : Babacar Ba exige la transparence et la reddition des comptes
Babacar Ba, president of the Forum du liticiable, is challenging the authorities on the management of the Intergenerational Fund, which is supposed to preserve a share of oil and gas revenues for the benefit of future generations. He is demanding clarification on compliance with legal obligations and the publication of the annual report.
The Forum du liticiable raises serious questions about the management of this fund, a mechanism created to ensure that resources from oil and gas exploitation also benefit future generations.
In a statement made public, its president Babacar Ba addresses three major questions to the authorities.
"Mr. Minister of Finance, is the 10% of revenue from oil and gas exploitation actually paid into the Intergenerational Fund?" he asks.
He continues by asking about the annual report on the management of the fund, which should be prepared and submitted to the President of the Republic and the National Assembly, in accordance with the texts in force. "Has the annual report on the management of the Intergenerational Fund been prepared and submitted to the President of the Republic and the Finance Committee of the National Assembly, in accordance with the law?"
Finally, Babacar Ba directly calls on the Head of State: "If so, Mr. President of the Republic, transparency would require that this annual report on the management of the fund be made public."
