Gouvernement : Les raisons pour lesquelles Déthié Fall effectue plusieurs passations de services
He held two handover ceremonies this Monday. One at the Ministry of Fisheries, Maritime and Port Infrastructure. The other at the Ministry of Family and Solidarity. That's not all, because tomorrow, Tuesday, Déthié Fall will be at the Ministry of Land Transport for the same exercise. So why so many (three) handovers for Déthié Fall?
The answer lies in the current authorities' decision to consolidate all infrastructure-related issues into a single department. On Saturday, September 6, when announcing the new government, Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko explained that upon taking office, they noted "a fragmentation of the infrastructure issue, with infrastructure departments in almost every ministry."
According to him, this fragmentation has led to a decline in quality in execution and cost control, as well as a problem with transparency. "That is why we have decided to return to a centralized organization," the head of government stated. As a result, several departments will be relieved of their infrastructure services. These services will be attached to the ministry headed by Déthié Fall.
"Previously, we were a ministry of maritime and port infrastructure. With the creation of this new department (Infrastructure), responsibilities are now transferred to my colleague (Déthié Fall). This is why we have proceeded with the transfer of services to allow him to now take over responsibility for port infrastructure," explained Dr. Fatou Diouf, Minister of Fisheries, on Monday.
The same situation applies to the Ministry of Family and Solidarity. There, the Promoville, PUDC, and Puma programs will be attached to the newly created Ministry of Infrastructure. "This reflects the firm commitment of the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister to strengthening the coherence of government architecture, particularly in the area of infrastructure," said Maïmouna Dieye.
And this process will continue tomorrow, Tuesday, at the Ministry of Land and Air Transport, previously the Ministry of Infrastructure and Land and Air Transport.
