"He already told me what he was up to..." Al Aminou Lô speaks about his handover of services to Ousmane Sonko

Ahmadou Al Aminou Lô is officially the new Prime Minister of Senegal. On Friday, the traditional handover ceremony took place between him and Ousmane Sonko. He gave thanks to God and thanked the President of the Republic for his appointment. Regarding his predecessor, the newly appointed Prime Minister took the opportunity to recall their relationship.

“In April 2024, he called on me. He didn’t know me. I came. He trusted me,” he stated on the sidelines of the ceremony. Then, from the Prime Minister’s office, Al Aminou Lô moved to the Presidential Palace. There too, it was a joint decision: “They decided, and the President of the Republic called me to his side as part of the national transformation agenda that we developed under his leadership. And the result is there, which is highly praised.”

At the time, upon leaving, Sonko invited him to remain the bridge between the Prime Minister's office and the Presidency of the Republic regarding the national transformation agenda. "That's what I had to do. Every time I expressed the need to come and report to him, to exchange ideas with him, he welcomed me warmly," testifies the new head of government.

Today, Al Aminou Lô returned to the Prime Minister's office to replace Ousmane Sonko. He considers this a great honor. "An honor to do so with someone who wished me everything in this state of Senegal, who supported me with great generosity. And who, during the handover and everything that followed, always showed me his brotherly support in this new role," he said.

But, during the handover ceremony, Sonko made his position clear to his successor: "He already told me what to expect, I think, last Tuesday, by saying that it's going to be very, very difficult. I told him that yes, there is a separation between the executive and the legislative branches, but I will continue to benefit from his wise advice. And I will also continue to seek his wise advice whenever necessary," stated Prime Minister Al Aminou Lô.

Bien-sûr nous qui connaissions l'ampleur des dégâts causés par le régime de Macky on a bien mesuré son travail, il n'y a que les culunas méchants et aigri qui ne voient que la haine qui refusent de regarder bande d'imbéciles
