Instabilité dans les Universités : l’Assemblée nationale annonce une mission d’information parlementaire
The National Assembly wants to investigate what is happening in Senegal's universities. The Committee on Education, Youth, Sports, and Recreation announced that on February 2, 2026, the institution's bureau was tasked with establishing a parliamentary fact-finding mission on the instability observed in the country's public universities. Having received a positive response, a commission composed of 11 members of parliament, representing all political viewpoints in the Assembly, was established on February 9.
"This fact-finding mission aims to investigate the situation of instability in public universities, to question the perspectives of all stakeholders and to collect all relevant documentation in order to help members of parliament to formulate a fair and convincing analysis of the causes, consequences and possible short-term and structural solutions to the current crisis," the commission said in its statement.
