Interdiction du "Niakhtou National" : Anta Babacar Ngom et l'ARC affirment leur détermination
Despite the ban by the Prefect of Dakar, the opposition, led by several political forces, attempted to hold the "National Niakhtou" this Saturday on the grounds of Sacré-Cœur 3. The event was prevented, however, as the police dispersed the demonstrators and made arrests.
Former presidential candidate and president of the Alternative for Citizen Renewal (ARC) party, Anta Babacar Ngom, denounces these actions which she describes as attempts to intimidate the opposition.
In a statement, she deplored the intervention of the security forces: "This Saturday, November 8, the ARC party, alongside other opposition forces, responded to the call of the Niakhtou National... But while the mobilization was intended to be peaceful and republican, the security forces blocked access to the site, dispersed the crowd and launched tear gas."
Despite this repression, Anta Babacar Ngom affirms that his activists and sympathizers remain "determined and united around the vision" of change, justice and dignity, assuring that the ARC will continue to carry "the voice of the people".
