L'Apr outrée par la sortie du Sonko : «Il a tenu des propos d'une extrême gravité»
Ousmane Sonko's remarks in Kaolack, concerning the difficulties farmers face in selling their produce, continue to draw reactions from the opposition. This Saturday, it was the Alliance for the Republic (APR) party's turn to speak out. "By publicly admitting the government's failure, accusing its ministers, while simultaneously exonerating himself, Ousmane Sonko has made extremely serious statements," Macky Sall's party stated in a declaration.
For the APR, the head of government "is handing his ministers over to popular anger, maintains that Senegal does not have a government worthy of the name and, even worse, is asking his Minister of Finance and Budget to use, if necessary, financial means, even if illegal, to deal with the disastrous situation and urgently resolve the serious difficulties of the rural world."
Furthermore, the party believes that 2025 will be one of the hardest and most trying years for the Senegalese people. In its view, the Senegalese have been abandoned to their fate in the face of an exceptionally serious political, economic, social, and moral crisis. "Our compatriots are living at the very edge of what is humanly acceptable," it says.
Also, for the APR, no significant action can be taken from the President of the Republic's economic tour in Casamance, "other than the appropriation of the outgoing regime's projects."
