Les partisans de Mimi Touré réagissent aux attaques contre leur leader : Le ticket Ayib-Abass : Une défaillance intellectuelle

These remarks come from supporters of Aminata Mimi Touré, in response to attacks directed against their leader, the former president of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CESE). Lamine Sène, coordinator of Mimi-Thiès, a member of the DiomayePrésident coalition, believes that, analytically, these positions reflect a logic of dogmatic exclusion that directly contradicts the principles of democratic pluralism.
These "robust political transitions are built not in ideological isolation, but in the ability to integrate diverse actors, provided they adhere to a foundation of common values. It is, moreover, quite ironic that those who advocate openness when it concerns them personally suddenly become apostles of closure as soon as another political figure manages to bring people together more broadly and more effectively than they do."
In the eyes of the coordinator of Mimi-Thiès, the repeated invocation of the memory of martyrs as a trump card in a partisan debate appears, in this respect, not only unfortunate but almost convenient: lacking analysis, emotion is invoked. Yet, he says, these martyrs sacrificed themselves for a freer, more inclusive, and more demanding political space; certainly not to solidify affiliations, condemn the evolution of convictions, or restrict civic engagement to a circle of self-proclaimed elites.
In contrast to these restrictive stances, Mr. Sène points out, Aminata Touré's trajectory demonstrates remarkable coherence and consistency in defending the rule of law, ethical governance, and republican rigor. The momentum she is currently driving—expanding responsibilities, strengthening cohesion, and methodically structuring the political project—stems from a monumental undertaking whose depth clearly seems to unsettle those who only perceive its surface.
Lamine Sène observes that it is always easier to cry "recycling" than to admit that structured leadership naturally attracts competent individuals. And that ultimately, the statements by Ayib Dafé and Abass Fall reflect less a political analysis than a difficulty in recognizing the legitimacy and effectiveness of Aminata Touré's inclusive approach.
Contrary to these approximations, he said, his approach appears not only rational and in line with democratic standards, but essential to consolidate the achievements of our governance and prepare Senegal for the major challenges that await it.
