Madiop Diop déclare sa candidature à la Mairie de Dakar
A well-known figure in the political landscape, Madiop Diop is an active member of Taxawu Senegal, the coalition founded and long led by Khalifa Ababacar Sall. He has been a key player in the movement's political victories, particularly in Dakar, where the coalition has maintained its influence in recent years.
Despite his past loyalty, the mayor of Grand-Yoff is now displaying a new ambition: to emerge from the shadow of Khalifa Sall and establish himself as a consensus candidate, capable of uniting all the political sensitivities represented within the Dakar Municipal Council.
The election of Dakar's new mayor is a major issue in Senegalese politics. With this candidacy, Madiop Diop could well reshuffle the cards within the Taxawu Senegal coalition, but also in the municipal arena more broadly.

Être de takhawou et sortir de l'ombre de Khalifa, c'est juste impossible. En fait takhawou il y avait un troublion et il est parti, Pastef meme ne leur mettra pas les bâtons dans les roues.

Madiop est en vérité un Maire bien debout dans ses bottes. Malgré certaines difficultés que l'on avoir avec lui , il est généralement un homme de courage et de principe. Nos prières et nos vœux l'accompagnent
Dakar mérite un maire très intellectuel, pas une sorte de mystificateur traditionnel ou maraboutisant. Faut sortir absolument de l'ombre des griotistes pour retrouver des gens convenables, exposables à l'étranger, dans les grands forums et non grimés de grands boubous ou en baby lahad et qui sont de pensées libérées
