Mairie de Dakar : la guerre des coalitions
In its Saturday, August 16, edition, Les Échos reports that political coalitions are busy preparing for the Dakar mayoral election, scheduled for August 27 at the latest. Although a minority, the Pastef party aims to seize the seat and has nominated Abass Fall, Minister of Labor, as its candidate. The latter is currently actively campaigning among municipal councilors, the newspaper reports.
For its part, the same source claims, the Takhawou Dakar coalition, which holds the majority in the municipal council, is mobilizing to counter the ruling candidate, with the direct involvement of Khalifa Sall. One question remains: will the coalition reappoint Ngoné Mbengue or will it opt for another candidate?
The Benno Bokk Yaakaar coalition is also in full consultation and could either present a candidate or support the opposition candidate.
Finally, Les Echos emphasizes that in the event of failure of the electoral process, the government does not exclude the establishment of a special delegation.

MAintenant s'il y a abstinence d'un certain nombre de delegue, le process sea null et ca sera l'echec...pour nommer une delegation speciale.
