Ndogou au Palais : Un maire de "Pastef" refuse l'invitation de Diomaye Faye
President Bassirou Diomaye Faye invited all mayors from the presidential party, Pastef, to a Ndogou (a traditional meal) at the Presidential Palace. While the vast majority accepted the invitation, Nfally Badji, mayor of Suelle in the Bignona department, declined.
"I wish to inform you that I will not be accepting this invitation. I remind you that mayors do not need ndogou, but rather substantial resources to improve the quality of life of their constituents. I would have proposed, instead of this invitation, an audience scheduled on the presidential agenda so that we could be received with all the honors due to our status as chief magistrates, to discuss the situation in the country," the mayor wrote in a text consulted by Seneweb.
The teacher-researcher at the Faculty of Medicine, Pharmacy and Dentistry at UCAD is making a plea to his party colleagues. "With this act, I would like to remind them that being a patriot should not be limited to wearing the colours of a party, but rather to proving one's patriotism through actions, deeds and gestures," he says.
