Ousmane Sonko : « Je suis le gardien de cette révolution »
Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, speaking before parliament, accepted the "flattery and other slogans" that he said he had previously rejected. "After two years of fierce struggle within a complex system, with humility and determination: yes, I am the guardian of this revolution, alongside the millions of Senegalese here and in the diaspora. They have not forgotten why so many sacrifices were made: for truth, integrity, the eradication of the flaws of a well-known system, and selflessness," he declared.
The head of government called on the Senegalese to be agents of change: "This time will be the right start for Senegal, with your help, the awakening and alignment with the new demands of all the fighting forces that confront us."
Ousmane Sonko affirmed his determination to pursue change: "We will never give up on this fight for the history of humanity. Revolutions that advance towards their destiny encounter intrigues, infiltrations and temptations, but this commitment is that this time will be the right one."
The Prime Minister also emphasized the value of hard work and perseverance: “The fundamental value is work. It is what allows us to overcome the resistance and challenges of the adventure we are undertaking.” For him, Senegal must become a model of governance and exemplary conduct: “We must take care of ourselves. We are Senegalese. We must address the practices of the past and be exemplary in the management of public affairs. We are families, fathers, brothers and sisters, the models of independence.”
