Polémique autour du soutien d'Abdoulaye Dièye à la coalition présidentielle : Ass Wilane répond à Sidy Makhtar Coly

"It is Senegal that needs Abdoulaye Dieye!" This is the conviction of Ass Wilane, a citizen of Thiès, who responded to the statement by a member of the Conference of Leaders of "Diomaye-President", Sidy Makhtar Coly, who disapproved of the joining, to the presidential coalition, of the former Director General of the Blaise-Diagne International Airport (AIBD), Abdoulaye Diéye, former member of the Benno Bokk Yakaar (BBY) coalition.

“The outlines of a retrograde and nihilistic political stance. The unjustified panic of someone allergic to positive change. When the pathology of nihilism rouses a social climber from his torpor.” These are the words of Ass Wilane, who was careful to clarify: “Quite naturally, we expected Mr. Abdoulaye Dièye’s decision to join the presidential coalition to spark debate.”

He continued: Among the reactions it provoked, that of a certain Sidy Makhtar Coly is the most surprising due to its impertinence, lack of substance, and baseness. Indeed, as justification for his position, he brandished only doubt about President Siggi Jotna's ability to contribute anything to the coalition and his supposed prior opposition to the current regime. Narrow-mindedness and lack of intelligence at their finest! Who does S. M. Coly think he's fooling?

He added: "One has to wonder if he shouldn't be admitted to the Dalal Xeel Hospital in Thiès for a medical examination for an overdose of obscurantism." How, Mr. Wilane wondered, could anyone feel such a casual and violent rejection of the support Mr. Abdoulaye Dièye intends to give to the presidential coalition? In his view, the question is perfectly legitimate. One would have to be a nihilist and a selfish person to reject progress.

The citizen of Thiès emphasized: Of course, Abdoulaye Dièye doesn't presume to please everyone. He would be wrong to do so. However, we must be honest and recognize that his actions stem fundamentally from a deep-seated commitment to the common good, rather than self-serving partisanship. Abdoulaye Dièye's presence in the nascent presidential coalition should inspire compassion rather than envy. He is so incredibly generous in his efforts that he is willing to go to great lengths for the benefit of others.

Wilane strongly refutes Coly's claims that he has nothing to contribute to the presidential coalition! According to Wilane, beyond the borders of the railway capital, beyond his own neighborhood where Coly can't even muster five people to his cause due to his divisive, denialist, and sectarian tendencies, the entire country of Senegal wants this fellow citizen. He is a true job-creating machine through his company and his innovative initiatives for youth integration and women's empowerment.

Ass Wilane continued: Let Coly, who claims to be an executive, tell us what action he took and where; perhaps even symbolically for the nation's development? Having become an AIBD employee through A. Dièye's predecessor, he didn't bother with moral considerations when denigrating his benefactor to curry favor with his replacement for undue privileges. This is a betrayal worthy of upstarts recruited based on political patronage quotas. Is an imposter who embodies treachery in its most abject form and mediocrity truly capable of lecturing those far superior to him on every level?

For this citizen of Thiès, S. M. Coly's unacceptable attitude is hardly surprising. It's in the very nature of ambitious, short-sighted, limited, and foolish politicians to be unable to suppress their aversion to healthy, grassroots competition. Hence their systematic, timid retreat into themselves, guided as they are by an instinct for self-preservation bordering on cowardice and madness.

He points out that, as a virtuous political leader and competent business executive, Abdoulaye Dieye never uttered insults, invectives, or even simple warnings to his most implacable adversaries. Yet they never ceased, for a single moment, to try to pillory him, to wage war against him with, for the most part, unconventional weapons. It never happened. Not even at the height of the conflict between supporters of the old and current regimes.

According to him, neither VAR nor even artificial intelligence manipulation could prove it. To suggest otherwise, solely out of fear of imagined internal rivalry and adversity, is a stance President Diomaye would have preferred to avoid. He is entrusted with the formidable and almost sacred mission of guiding Senegal to safe harbor, against all odds and with the support of all Senegalese. That is truly the issue at stake.

The citizen of Thiès points out that Abdoulaye Dièye, who is fully aware of the situation, cannot be distracted or tainted by the grandstanding of a politician who understands everything except the essentials. The strong conviction underpinning his major political act effectively exempts him from engaging in mindless, petty debates. And he expresses his indignation: What a disservice to the conciliatory, open-minded, and enlightened President Diomaye to try to block the path of men of worth, distinguished citizens, capable of playing a vital, even decisive, role in the successful implementation of the systemic transformation project by 2050!

As a reminder, Sidy Makhtar Coly, a member of the Conference of Leaders of the "Diomaye President" coalition and president of the collective of Casamance natives from Thiès, had declared: "Our coalition does not need Abdoulaye Dièye, leader of the "2AP/Siggi Jotna" Movement, who has now pledged to support the Head of State in his mission for a better Senegal. He has nothing to offer us." He was indignant that "many leaders are already forgetting their hostile positions towards us a few years ago and want to join us for their own hidden personal interests."
