Rassemblement jeunesses féminines : Le Parti socialiste appelle à une remobilisation
The Socialist Party organized a major Women's Youth Gathering, marked by strong participation. Presiding over the meeting, the Party's Secretary General, Aminata Mbengue Ndiaye, noted that this gathering was part of the program of activities of the Special Revitalization Commission, established to revitalize all components of the party in preparation for the upcoming extraordinary congress. "Our approach aims to collectively outline promising new perspectives for our party, building on its rich 77-year history, from 1948 to the present day," she explained.
Referring to the work of the Commission led by comrades Mamadou Faye and Gorgui Ciss, Aminata Mbengue Ndiaye explained that the objective is to reposition the Socialist Party as a "leading political force" and a "credible alternative" capable of regaining power. To achieve this, she called for a "synergy of collective intelligence" between committed young people and experienced leaders.
Looking back on the party's legacy, the Secretary General recalled that "the prestigious political history of the Socialist Party... obliges and condemns us to do no less than the late President Léopold Sédar Senghor, President Abdou Diouf and the late President Ousmane Tanor Dieng".
She also stressed the need to preserve Senegal's institutional achievements against "all forms of adventurist drift".
Regarding the Special Recovery Commission, it was indicated that it is following up on the recommendations of the last meeting of the Political Bureau and that it must submit its final report "no later than December 2025." In this context, several working sessions have already taken place with affiliated movements and organizations.
She also revisited the evolution of the National Youth Movement since its creation in 1954. In this regard, she believes that certain provisions, including "the question of the minimum age", deserve in-depth reflection in light of the current reality of the party.
Before concluding, Aminata Mbengue Ndiaye reaffirmed their "commitment to the values of the Republic, to respect for fundamental freedoms and to the stability of our institutions."
She praised the commitment of the activists and all those involved in making the demonstration a success, stating that the mobilizing force of young women "reassures us and reinforces our conviction."
