Sénégal - Ces politiciens devenus milliardaires : Le peuple sénégalais, le grand perdant (Thié Kouyaté, acteur politique)
"In Senegal, the situation is stark: the majority of politicians, both old and new, have become billionaires. Meanwhile, the people continue to suffer." A cry of distress was launched during a press briefing by Mr. Thié Kouyaté, a political figure in Thiès and a member of the Conference of Leaders.
The secretary general of the political movement Horizon-2024 asks: "How long will Senegal continue to operate like this, while our natural resources are exploited and wealth remains concentrated in the hands of a few?"
According to Mr. Kouyate, poverty and unemployment are hitting hard across the country, in Kédougou, Thiès, Fouta, Saint-Louis, Kaolack, and Dakar. He believes that a young country, rich in sunshine, forests, and natural resources, should not see its population deprived of jobs and opportunities. "It's a shame," he said.
"It is time for politics to stop enriching a minority and start truly serving the people. Senegal deserves a future where everyone can live with dignity, where young people find hope, and where national resources benefit everyone," the politician concluded.
