Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko is sounding the alarm. In the Council of Ministers meeting on Wednesday, May 20, he stated from the outset that the Senegal Connect Park "constitutes a strategic project for digital sovereignty, innovation, data hosting, the development of the digital economy and the attractiveness of Senegal".

And even though it boasts a 95% physical completion rate, financial and contractual obstacles pose a serious threat to its timely delivery.

Therefore, Ousmane Sonko called for urgent action to resolve the situation. "He asked that a new, realistic closing date be submitted without delay to the African Development Bank (AfDB), that discussions with the West African Development Bank (BOAD) be finalized, and that negotiations regarding the project concession be accelerated," the Council of Ministers' statement indicated.
