Former minister Serigne Mbacké Ndiaye spoke out about the political crisis. According to him, the gravity of the situation facing the country cannot be attributed solely to the Pastef party. He believes the opposition bears at least as much responsibility as the parliamentary majority.

"What is happening in the National Assembly is serious. Pastef is being singled out, but the MPs who are not from this party are just as responsible as their colleagues in the majority," he said.

Thus, he listed three key events. First, during the installation of the National Assembly, the oldest member, Alla Kane, announced that he had received a letter from MP Ousmane Sonko requesting the suspension of his mandate. This moment, the former minister noted, should have triggered an immediate reaction, since "no provision in the internal regulations stipulates such a procedure." Yet, no MP, whether from the majority or the opposition, stood up to remind everyone of this.

Then, during the controversial revision of the electoral code, some parliamentarians refused to join the non-affiliated members in appealing to the Constitutional Council. Serigne Mbacké Ndiaye highlights the role of the Takku Wallu parliamentary group. He cites the fact that despite the public commitment of its president, Aissata Tall Sall, to appeal to the highest legal authority, the group ultimately followed the advice of Mame Mbaye Niang, foregoing any legal action. The revision of the code was thus adopted "without a hitch," he laments.

Finally, the former minister concludes that the opposition, through its silence or inaction, appears "as responsible, if not more responsible, than the Majority" in the degradation of the institutional framework.
