Seydou Guèye à Ousmane Sonko : “Il cherche à salir l’œuvre de Macky Sall, mais c’est peine perdue”
In the wake of Ousmane Sonko's rally in Dakar, the spokesperson for the Alliance for the Republic (APR), Seydou Guèye, reacted strongly. A guest on RFM's "Grand Jury" program this Sunday, November 9th, the former minister described the rally as "populist" and "devoid of substance."
According to him, the meeting brought nothing new to the national debate. "He spoke loudly, forcefully, and at length, but there was nothing new under the sun. The Senegalese people were expecting a solution for the country, not a series of accusations," he said.
The former Secretary General of the Government believes that Ousmane Sonko "prefers popular platforms to institutional rigor," stressing that he "already has the necessary spaces — cabinet meetings, inter-ministerial councils, National Assembly — to address matters of state."
Regarding the accusations against Macky Sall, the APR spokesperson accuses Ousmane Sonko of waging a crusade against the former president. According to him, the Pastef leader wants nothing more than to "tarnish the legacy of President Macky Sall and erase his name from the hearts of the Senegalese people. But it's a lost cause," he asserts.
For him, Senegalese people expect concrete solutions, not political attacks. "They don't want to be singled out as a target to hate, they want a future to build," insists Seydou Guèye.
