Sonko aux champs ce samedi : Mabouba Diagne explique les raisons
This Saturday, following the President's address to the Diomaye President coalition's general assembly, the Prime Minister and Pastef leader posted a message. "I had a wonderful day in the fields. There's nothing more authentic than agriculture. Let's all go back to it! The quest for sovereignty is first and foremost an individual one," Ousmane Sonko wrote on X. In reality, the Prime Minister was visiting the farms of Mabouba Diagne, who is also his Minister of Agriculture. Diagne responded to provide further details about his visit.
“This Saturday, I had the pleasure and honor of welcoming Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko to my farms for an immersion into the heart of farming. This visit to the fields was a moment of frank and inspiring exchanges about the challenges and opportunities of our agriculture. Above all, it allowed us to reaffirm a strong conviction: Senegal’s food sovereignty will be built first and foremost through the concrete commitment of each and every one of us,” the minister stated.
Mabouba Diagne stated that the words posted by the Prime Minister on his Facebook page perfectly capture the spirit of their vision: to make agriculture not only a strategic sector for our economy, but also a civic commitment to our food independence. "Through the initiatives led by the Ministry and the efforts of producers across the country, we will continue to promote modern, productive agriculture that creates jobs for our youth," the Minister indicated, calling for the cultivation of Senegal's food sovereignty.
