Homosexualité : L'imam Ratib de Sedhiou affiche sa fermeté
The Imam Ratib of Sédhiou, Boubacar Dramé, firmly condemned the unnatural acts, recalling Islam's uncompromising position on this issue.
Drawing on religious texts, he asserted that those caught in the act face radical sanctions, including execution.
This statement is part of a desire to preserve the moral and societal values of Senegal in the face of what it perceives as a threat.
The Imam took advantage of this platform to reaffirm his total support, as well as that of the religious leaders of the region, for the government of Bassirou Diomaye Faye.
He strongly encourages the authorities to be firm and to go all the way in the fight against these practices deemed deviant.
For the religious leader, the issue is also demographic and social, fearing a profound breakdown of the traditional family unit.
Worried about the future, he asked bitterly: "If men marry each other, what will become of women?"
Imam Boubacar Dramé is therefore calling for a constant mobilization of the vital forces to block any promotion of homosexuality in the country.
