COUVERTURE SANITAIRE UNIVERSELLE : Plan International Sénégal enrôle 27 268 enfants
The Director General of the Senegalese Agency for Universal Health Coverage (SEN-CSU), Dr. El Hadji Séga GUÈYE and the Representative of Plan International / Senegal Section, Salimata BOCOUM, proceeded on Thursday to sign, on the one hand, a framework agreement, which defines the principles of collaboration between our two entities and, on the other hand, a specific agreement, which gives the partnership an immediately operational dimension.
This partnership provides for Plan to cover 27,268 children over the age of five within the SEN-CSU health insurance scheme. In addition to this significant effort, SEN-CSU is making a major social commitment by enrolling an additional 2,726 children , including 550 under the age of five, at no cost to them. This combination of solidarity investment and institutional contribution strengthens equitable access to healthcare and gives this agreement a profoundly inclusive scope.
For the Director General, this trust from Plan International Senegal is both an honor and a commitment to SEN-CSU. “ We reaffirm here our determination to guarantee effective, continuous, and equitable access to healthcare for all children sponsored by Plan, in accordance with the standards of quality, transparency, and accountability that underpin our work. We are also paying particular attention to the post-signing phase.”
The identification of beneficiaries, their enrollment, and the distribution of cards must be conducted methodically, rigorously, and with a strong sense of public service. An official card distribution ceremony will be held at the appropriate time to provide concrete visibility to the impact of this partnership on the ground ,” emphasized the Director General of SEN-CSU.
Salimata Bocoum, for her part, praised the facilities offered by the CSU program and estimated the total enrollment fees at nearly 95 million FCFA. She hopes to renew this partnership as often as possible for this category of beneficiaries, who often have very precarious health.
