Point de situation sur les épidémies de Fièvre de la Vallée du Rift et de Mpox au Sénégal
On November 4, 2025, the Ministry of Health and Social Action published a new bulletin on the evolution of the Rift Valley Fever and Mpox epidemics.
Rift Valley Fever (RVF)
It is reported that as of November 3, 2025, there were 5 new positive cases and zero new deaths. Since the start of the epidemic, Senegal has recorded 391 confirmed cases, including 29 deaths and 317 recoveries.
Mpox
Since the first case of Mpox was confirmed on August 22, 2025, the Ministry has reported 7 confirmed and 2 probable cases, all located in the Dakar region. All patients have recovered and no deaths have been reported. To date, 14 contacts are currently being monitored.
The Ministry calls on the population to be vigilant, to strictly respect preventive measures, and to actively collaborate with health workers and community relays to contain these epidemics.
