Saint-Louis : La Fièvre de la Vallée du Rift gagne du terrain
The Saint-Louis region is facing a worrying increase in Rift Valley Fever (RVF). The epidemic, which emerged several weeks ago, continues to spread and affect several health districts.
According to the latest report established this Thursday, October 2, 2025 at 00:15 by the medical region, 54 positive cases have been recorded. Among them, there are 18 simple cases followed at home, 25 people cured, 8 deaths and 3 hospitalized cases - including one treated in Ndioum and two others in Saint-Louis. With this report, 13 new cases have been recorded in the Saint-Louis region.
The health situation is becoming worrying, as four out of five districts in the region are now in the epidemic phase.
Health authorities are calling for vigilance and strict compliance with preventive measures, particularly protection against mosquito bites, the main vector of the disease.
Awareness and vector control campaigns are underway to limit the spread of the virus and protect populations.
