Saint-Louis : « L’hôpital est plus malade que ses patients », déplore Imam Abdallah Cissé
Saint-Louis hosted, as usual, the general pilgrimage (ziarra) dedicated to Serigne El Hadj Madior Cissé this weekend. During this large gathering, the moral and spiritual guide of the "Hadara Ihsaane," Serigne El Hadji Mouhamedou Abdoulaye Cissé, took the opportunity to address state authorities on a pressing health issue.
The religious leader highlighted the alarming situation at the Saint-Louis regional hospital, which he described as being "sicker than the patients it treats." Imam Cissé, through Governor Al Hassan Sall, appealed to state authorities for an urgent upgrade of the public hospital's medical facilities.
"To carry out certain examinations, patients are forced to go to Louga. Even worse, sometimes the air conditioning in the hospital morgue breaks down," lamented the Imam ratib of the Ihsaane mosque, located in the Sindoné district of Saint-Louis.
